- How to set up one port belonged to multiple VLANs to EX2224S?
- A promiscuous port communicates with all other private VLAN ports and is the port you use to communicate with routers, LocalDirector, backup servers, and administrative workstations.
An isolated port has complete Layer 2 separation from other ports within the same private VLAN with the exception of the promiscuous port.
Community ports communicate among themselves and with their promiscuous ports. These ports are isolated at Layer 2 from all other ports in other communities or isolated ports within their private VLAN.
VLAN 4 is a promiscuous VLAN.
Port 3 is a promiscuous port.
VLAN 3 is an isolated VLAN.
Port 4 is an isolated port.
VLAN 2 is a community VLAN.
Port 1, 2 are community ports.
1. Create VLAN 2 in the VLAN setting first. Add Port 1, 2, 3 in VLAN 2.
VLAN 2 = Port 1, 2, 3 (Port1, 2, 3 can communicate to each other)
2. Create VLAN 3 in the VLAN setting. Add Port 3, 4 in VLAN 3.
VLAN 3 = Port 3, 4 (Port 3, 4 can communicate to each other)
3. Create VLAN 4 in the VLAN setting. Add Port 1, 2, 3, 4 in VLAN 4.
VLAN 4 = Port 1, 2, 3, 4 (Port 1, 2 can’t communicate to Port 4)
4. Assign PVID number to Port 1, 2, 3, 4 in the PVID setting.
(Remember to delete Port 1, 2, 3, 4 from VLAN 1.)

3. Create VLAN 3 in the VLAN setting. Add Port 3, Trunk group 1 in VLAN 3.
VLAN 3 = Port 3, Trunk group 1 (Port 3, Trunk group 1 can communicate to each other)
4. Create VLAN 4 in the VLAN setting. Add Port 1, 2, 3, Trunk group 1 in VLAN 4.
VLAN 4 = Port 1, 2, 3, Trunk group 1 (Port 1, 2 can’t communicate to Port 3)
5. Assign PVID number to Port 1, 2, 3, Trunk group 1 in the PVID setting.
